March 7th First Wednesday Book Group
This month’s First Wednesday read , The Little Disturbances of Man, by Grace Paley, let’s us dip into the short stories of “women and men at love.”
Paley has been called a wonderful writer–merciless, fresh, comic and unladylike. “Disturbances,” first published in 1959, displays her deft and humorous touch. Whether writing about loving and bickering couples, angry suburbanites, frustrated job-seekers , or Jewish children performing a Christmas play, she captures the loneliness, poignancy and humor of human experience with a matchless style.
For more information on our lively group call 330-643-9035. We meet the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Copies of the discussion books are available at the Popular Culture desk.
